Introduction

The Cyber Security Awareness Program was conducted at SJES College of Nursing to educate students and staff about the growing threats in the digital landscape and promote best practices to safeguard information assets. The program aimed to enhance understanding of cyber threats, data protection, and secure use of technology.

Objectives 

  • To raise awareness about common cyber threats such as phishing, ransomware, and social engineering.
  • To encourage safe online behavior and data handling practices. 
  • To promote compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies and regulations. 
  • To introduce basic incident reporting procedures.

Program Details

Welcome Address: 

The event began with a welcome speech by Veena Ma’am (Vice Principal of SJES College of Nursing), who emphasized the

importance of awareness in Cyber security nowadays. 

Speakers: 

Vandhana Ma’am, Circle Inspector – Mahadevapura (Crime Department) 

Santhosh Sir, Cyber Crime Assistant 

The program used a mix of presentations, real-life examples, video demonstrations, and interactive sessions to ensure participant engagement and effective learning. 

Feedback

Feedback collected from students showed a positive response, with most expressing improved understanding of cyber hygiene and a willingness to adopt safer practices.
